about the book
August 2018 tragedy hit my family. I knew I would never see my son again. Six months later, I lost our texts when I upgraded my phone. I panicked and returned persistently to the carrier until I had possession of the old sim card. I went home and typed every text my son had sent me.
I put those text away and did not look at them again until five years after the tragedy. This book has been written with the hope that people struggling with addiction and their loved ones will sit and have respectful conversations that will strengthen their faith in our loving Father, one God, who created us all equal!
TEXTS from a Mother and Son
Over and over again, when I share with close family or friends that Covenant Books is printing a book I wrote about my son, they respond "it's probably been healing for you." Oh! how I hope it becomes more than that.
My hope is that our family's story will inspire others in addiction recovery to become closer to a life free of drugs and alcohol. How? With daily prayer and acknowledgement of God's love. It is my hope that our family's story will shine a positive light of understanding on the way people think of people who suffer from the illness of addiction.
